PETAA is a national not-for-profit member association supporting primary teachers in providing a powerful English, language and literacies education to all young people. We do this by running a range of professional learning for classroom teachers, school leaders, and pre-service educators; funding research and publishing new, award-winning teacher reference texts; and creating a variety of resources for teachers to use in programming, planning, or within the classroom. PETAA offers a discounted membership for students and discount student rates on all professional learning.
Pre-service teachers may especially appreciate The PETAA Literacy Resources Portal for Early Career Teachers: it is a website packed with open-access resources, references and information for educators who are new to, or preparing for, their teaching career.

We train teachers to confidently manage the wide range of risks associated with running school excursions, camps, co-curricular programs, and international tours. With industry-leading trainers and both online and face to face training options, we help schools significantly reduce risk, improve safety, and protect their reputations through industry best- practice training and support. Started in 2015, Xcursion is run by a highly experienced team of educators and risk managers who have run countless school and university programs throughout Australia and internationally, providing great educational opportunities for their students through careful planning and pro-active risk management.
We provide risk management training for teachers for school excursion and activities and a great pre-service option for students as schools just don’t train their teachers in this, yet expect them to know how to write risk assessments and plan for risks on programs with no context nor experience. The main two courses which we would suggest are most relevant to pre-service teachers are: https://xcursion.thinkific.com/courses/excursion-activity-risk-assessments https://xcursion.thinkific.com/courses/risk-management-boostershot-school-excursions Both give pre-service teachers a solid foundation for the management of risk for school activities and supervision and set them up for success when entering a prac or teaching service. https://xcursion.thinkific.com/collections |
